Bellevue Clubhouse helps members of the community with severe mental illness. Bellevue Clubhouse hosts socials in the community that help members of the group combat feelings of isolation and create feelings of belonging. The group has helped 131 individuals since the last meeting.
Eastside Friends of Seniors mobilizes volunteers to provide free services for seniors. The money raised by 100 WWC sponsored a booth and a seniors day at the local farmers market to raise awareness about the group and attract volunteers.
The Sophia Way aims to provide safety, shelter, and stability to women. The Sophia Way donations were used to fund the Resource center and help with transitional housing. Sophia’s Place Extended-Stay Shelter provides a safe, warm, and stable space to 21 women for six months.
Hope Festival is a community event in Bellevue run by a group of volunteer high school and college students. The donations by our group will help purchase wanted items for the event such as baby formula, will allow the group to partner with a dental care sponsor, and cover the costs of the group's storage unit.
Yori was at a friend's house playing in the pool when he quietly slipped below the surface. Participation in formal swim lessons can reduce the likelihood of childhood drowning death by 88%. Donations by Women Who Care Seattle Eastside enabled 50+ low-income youth to take swimming lessons. Chezik Tsunoda started the charity "No More Under" in honor of Yori.
Along with helping many local homeless individuals, a portion of the group’s donation provided a homeless man a safe place to stay that was close to his mom’s hospice facility. He was able to spend the last few weeks of her life by her side rather than being forced from one outdoor space to another during this difficult time. It gave him hope that people cared and that somehow his life mattered.
By each giving a little we can make a big impact!
How We Work
  • Every member can nominate a local charity to speak about their organization and the service they provide.
  • At each of our meetings we listen to three local charities present to the members, and then we all vote on which cause to support.
  • We meet for one hour, three times a year, and each member writes a check for $100 directly to the charity selected.

Board
From Our Members
It's very inspiring to attend the 100 WWC meetings. We meet all kinds of small, local organizations who see a need, come up with solutions, and get things done. It shows what one person, one small organization, can do to build our community!
